Kitchen Rugs

Kitchens ask for something specific: low enough that a dishwasher door clears it, flat enough not to trip on, and washable or wipeable, because a kitchen rug lives where things get dropped.

Most of this collection is power-loomed polypropylene and polyester, which is the correct answer for a kitchen floor. Polypropylene in particular does not absorb water or oil the way wool does, so a spill sits on top long enough to be blotted rather than soaking into the pile.

Two practical notes. Use a non-slip pad on tile or sealed wood, because a kitchen is the room where a sliding rug actually hurts someone. And for the strip in front of a sink or range, a runner is usually a better shape than a rectangle — our runner collection covers that.
