Black & Gray

Black, charcoal, slate, silver and true gray — the palette people reach for when the rest of the room is already doing the talking. Gray hides traffic better than any color except brown, which is why it dominates modern living rooms and rental turnovers alike.

This is one of our broadest collections and it spans the full range of construction. Roughly a fifth is hand-knotted wool, where the gray comes from undyed or lightly dyed fleece and shifts slightly across the rug. The rest is power-loomed polypropylene and polyester, where the color is consistent edge to edge and the rug shrugs off spills.

A practical note on screens: gray is the hardest color to judge from a photograph, because your monitor's white balance pushes it warm or cool. If the exact shade matters — matching a sofa, say — it is worth seeing the rug in your own light. We are in Aberdeen Township, and we also bring rugs to homes across New Jersey.
