This Privacy Policy describes how The Rug Mall ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your personal information when you visit therugmall.com (the "Site"), make a purchase, or contact us.
Who we are

Information we collect
Information you give us. When you place an order, create an account, book an in-home consultation, or contact us, we collect your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and the details of your order. Payment card details are entered directly into our payment processor and are not stored on our systems.
Information collected automatically. When you browse the Site we collect your device type, browser, IP address, time zone, the pages and products you view, the search terms you use, and how you arrived at the Site. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies.
Information from our service providers. Our payment processors and fraud-prevention tools may share the outcome of a payment or risk check with us so that we can complete or decline an order.
How we use it
- To process, fulfill, ship and, where applicable, return or refund your order.
- To communicate with you about an order, a delivery, a consultation booking, or a question you have asked.
- To screen orders for fraud or risk.
- To operate and improve the Site, including understanding which products and pages are useful.
- To send you marketing messages, where you have asked to receive them. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by emailing us.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who need it to do work on our behalf, and only for that purpose:
- Shopify, which hosts our online store and processes orders. Shopify's privacy policy is at shopify.com/legal/privacy.
- Payment providers, to take payment and handle refunds and chargebacks.
- Our suppliers and carriers, to deliver your order. Rugs under our own label ship from our Aberdeen Township showroom. Rugs from other brands ship directly to you from the supplier, so we pass your name, delivery address and phone number to that supplier and their carrier.
- Analytics and advertising partners, including Google and Meta, which help us understand how the Site is used and measure our advertising.
We may also disclose personal information where we are required to by law, to respond to a lawful request from a public authority, or to protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for payment. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Cookies
Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit the Site. We use cookies that are necessary for the store to work — keeping your cart, keeping you signed in, and completing checkout — and cookies that help us measure how the Site is used and how our advertising performs.
Most browsers accept cookies automatically, and you can block or delete them in your browser settings. Blocking cookies that are necessary for the store to function will prevent parts of the Site, including checkout, from working.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them to service the order and to meet our tax, accounting and legal obligations. We keep marketing contact details until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete information we no longer need to retain.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to receive it in a portable format. You may also ask us to stop sending marketing messages.
Residents of California, and of other states with comparable privacy laws, have the right to know what personal information we collect and disclose, to request its deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no sale to opt out of.

Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, and payment details are transmitted directly to our payment processor. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or for legal or regulatory reasons. The current version is always the one published on this page.
