6x9 Area Rugs

A 6' x 9' area rug is one of the most versatile sizes we carry — ideal for bedrooms, home offices, smaller living rooms, and dining areas with a compact table. It's large enough to define a space without overwhelming it, which makes it a favorite for apartments, condos, and secondary bedrooms.

Our 6x9 collection includes hand-knotted wool rugs, flat-weave and low-pile options, and styles ranging from traditional oriental patterns to contemporary abstract designs. The range spans one-of-a-kind hand-knotted pieces from our own collection alongside machine-woven designs from Nourison and Dynamic Rugs, in materials from 100% wool and wool-viscose to bamboo silk and easy-care synthetics.

In a bedroom, a 6x9 rug typically works best extending 18-24 inches beyond the sides and foot of a queen or king bed. In living rooms, it suits spaces under roughly 12' x 14' — for anything larger, our 8x10 or 10x14 collections give furniture more room to sit fully on the rug.
