Green Rugs

Sage, olive, moss and deep emerald. Green has become the color people choose when they want something other than gray but are not ready for red, and it sits comfortably against both wood and white walls.

The collection splits fairly evenly between hand-knotted wool and power-loomed synthetic, with a handful of outdoor-rated pieces in polypropylene. Sage and olive tend to come from the modern, low-pile end; the deeper emeralds and bottle greens are mostly traditional patterns in wool.

Green is easier to live with than it looks on a screen, because most rug greens are muted and grayed rather than saturated. If you are matching to plants or a painted wall, judge it in the room's own light.
