Viscose is the fiber that gives you silk's sheen at a fraction of silk's price, and blended into a wool pile it is what makes a modern rug look luminous rather than flat. This is the most contemporary of our wool collections — most of it is modern in design, unlike wool generally, which runs traditional.

Almost all of these are hand-knotted, so you are getting genuine hand construction in a modern idiom. That combination is rarer than it sounds; most modern rugs at this look are power-loomed.

One thing to know before you buy: viscose is a rayon, and it does not like water. A wet spill left on viscose can leave a permanent mark even after it dries. Blot immediately, never rub, and keep these out of entries, kitchens and dining rooms. In a bedroom or a formal living room they are superb.
